The Night.

The night falls on us like a shroud
The moon rises accompanied by the stars
The sun has gone to rest in its bed
Quiet falls on the world of the dark
The deep of the night greets its stalkers
Bats, lizards and crickets
Their sounds resonate in the dark
The moon and the stars bear silent witness
To the creatures of the night
Alone by myself I sit
In the silence of the night, I am alone
In the depths of my mind, I travel
Into the winding library of my thoughts
My solace in what I can achieve
My sorrow in what I will lose
My friends of the night, the moon and the stars
