Like a Lonely Tree in the Night ~ A Poem.

The night is a canvas of dark like a silent shroud

Stars are generously scattered like dust across the sky

Like an unwanted soul the tree stands

Proud and strong the tree stands all alone

In the distance its fellow trees watch the one who is alone

The purple hue surrounds it like a mystical glow

The moon shines like a distant friend

Seated in its majestic throne

The stars its courtiers join its abode

The comet streaks across the moonlight starry night

Tinging the land in an orangey glow

Speedily the comet comes and goes

A celestial traveler, a hello and goodbye

Streaks of blue temporarily follow the fast traveler

They are its heralds and companions

And then disappear with the messenger in the sky

Like a lonely tree in the night

I sit all alone in the starry night

Comets may streak across the shroud of black

Filled with shiny stars and the smiling moon

The trunk is my thought

The branches are the divergences of my thought

The leaves are the conclusions of each thought
